In these Troubled Time!

I was looking forward to my daughter and her family moving closer to me. Their home was sold, they were to go to closing this week. Their home now is about 9 hours drive away. Soon it would be within 3 hours! I was really excited!

And then the economy worries gave the bank providing the mortgage to the buyers jitters over providing that much money. And now all deals are off!

The world today gives us bushels of worry material! What WILL become of us, our families and our children!!???? Where is all of this heading? And most of all we long for our children to be safe and happy. Can we provide that if the economy collapses?

And so we turn our thoughts to the things that REALLY matter! It certainly doesn't pay to be very connected to the size of our bank account or the investments in our 401K. Tomorrow none of that may be here!

And I am reminded of Jesus words, in Matthew 6:19-20

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust
destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

We are certainly realizing that today! This is a great time to point our children and grandchildren to the treasures we can store up in heaven! As we do that we are helping them to trust in the only source of help in this troubled world! God's Promises are poised to come true in the worst adversities.



I will truly miss having my dear family closer. But then again I am blessed that I have them at all! They will be in my prayers and thoughts as I learn to lay up MY treasures in Heaven!
